Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Solar Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation of solar energy systems on residential and commercial properties. This role requires a strong understanding of construction practices, electrical systems, and safety protocols. The Solar Installer will work closely with project managers and other team members to ensure that installations are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
Duties
- Install solar panels on rooftops and ground-mounted systems according to project specifications.
- Perform fixture installation, ensuring all components are securely attached and functioning properly.
- Read and interpret blueprints to determine the layout of solar systems.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during installations.
- Conduct electrical work in compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
- Operate forklifts to transport materials around the construction site as needed.
- Conduct system testing using voltmeters to ensure proper functionality before project completion.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment on construction sites.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot any installation issues that arise during the process.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in construction or electrical work is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with fixture installation techniques and safety practices on construction sites is essential.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Knowledge of NEC regulations related to solar installations is a plus.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and equipment safely.
- Experience operating forklifts is advantageous but not required; training may be provided.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work at heights (roofs) safely and effectively while adhering to safety protocols.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
