POSITION SUMMARY
Supports associates and leaders in all functional areas of Human Resources, including talent acquisition, talent development and management, culture and engagement, and total rewards. Builds relationships across the organization to deliver value-added service to management and associates that reflect the business objectives of the organization and enhance Company culture. Assesses, anticipates HR-related needs. Plans internal and external events and community activities to keep all associates involved. Manages multiple priorities and projects for continuous improvement.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Talent Acquisition
Provides a welcoming onboarding process, ensuring a great associate experience and smooth transition into the company and culture.
Connects associates to people, tools and resources to empower them throughout their employment journey.
Oversees the coordination of pre-employment screening and orientation.
Supports Talent Acquisition Partner as needed by screening candidates and participating in interviews.
Partners with Talent Acquisition to identify workforce development pipelines for core positions and makes recommendations to the Management and Leadership Teams to engage in local and regional organizations that grow a diverse talent pipeline short and long -term.
Partners with Talent Development to attract entry-level associates through campus recruitment.
Talent Development and Performance Management
Provides performance management guidance to managers including coaching, counseling, and career development.
Participates in the annual performance evaluation process, leading meetings, providing guidance and training to managers.
Maintains expertise in the Predictive Index tool and facilitates the understanding of the tool with associates and teams.
Facilitates the New Hire Navigator Program with new associates and established associates within the company.
Coordinates the review process for field craft associates (where applicable).
Culture, Retention and Engagement
Manages and resolves associate relations issues by listening, conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations, including proper documentation. Makes recommendations for follow-up action based upon investigation results.
Consults with managers and leaders to provide HR policy guidance and interpretation.
Maintains associate files, observing all confidentiality requirements.
Conducts regular interviews with current and separating associates, gathering insights to enhance engagement, improve processes and build trust.
Manages the offboarding process to ensure a positive lasting impression.
Compliance Culture
Ensures compliance with Human Resource policies, procedures, laws, standards and regulations.
Tracks and Manages Work Authorization, adhering to guidelines in compliance with IRS rules.
Ensures the posting of Federal and State Compliance posters at all Company locations.
Represents the company in “good faith efforts” related to Affirmative Action.
Strategic Partnership
Partners with leaders to support initiatives and business goals.
Drives an inclusive culture, partnering with leaders to support DEI Action Plans, inclusive people practices and recruiting diverse talent.
Partners with leaders to create and support Engagement Action Plans.
Total Rewards
Educates associates about Total Rewards Program and processes during life events, open enrollment and onboarding process.
Assists with annual benefit enrollments and administration. Audits annual enrollment for supported teams, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Delivers and maintains HR and Benefits Orientation for new associates.
Supports associates during leave of absences (i.e. FMLA, STD/LTD) by tracking leave, submitting appropriate forms to providers, following up, and communicating with associates and payroll. Stays abreast of federal and state leave regulations.
Projects and Other
Collaborates with HR Team and leaders to achieve company goals and initiatives.
Participates or leads special projects as recommended by leadership or VP, Human Resources.
Identifies and recommends new approaches for continuous improvement of department practices and policies.
Engages in professional or philanthropic organizations, giving back to community and enhancing professional growth.
Specializes in one or more of the following:
Chairs Company associate involvement committee including: MGC Cares, and/or Wellbeing Team by conducting regular meetings with its members and providing associate activities that encourage and inspire participation.
Actively participates in other Company associate involvement groups.
Manages HR updates on intranet by adding appropriate forms and documents, publishing communications, promoting awareness, and keeping the site current.
Leads the department in administration and expertise for one or more benefit plans.
Leads Total Compensation Statement creation and delivery process annually.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements before going into job)
Bachelor’s degree in field related to Human Resources or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
5+ years’ experience in Human Resources including recruitment and employee relations.
Proven track record of training, leading and mentoring associates.
PHR and/or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The position requires work in an office environment.
