About the Position
Responsible for supervising a team of tool specialists, managing all incoming tool orders, and supplying projects with the appropriate tools and consumables needed, ensuring tool returns occur, and calling for tools to be sent back to the shop from field projects. This position is responsible for managing in-house tool repairs, ensuring tool inventory numbers are accurate and appropriately accounting for the high quality of tools and equipment maintenance. This role provides leadership, subject matter expertise and support to other warehouse workers, in alignment with all Company policies, procedures, key objectives and regulations.

Day in the Life
- Supervises, oversees, and reviews the work of others and acts as a subject matter expert on inventory software and all other warehouse tools and equipment processes and procedures. Investigates complex problems and identifies, recommends, and implements continuous improvement initiatives and best practices. Leads initiatives for productivity and service-level improvements.
- Manages and inventories all tools, equipment, and consumables. Utilizes computerized inventory system and troubleshoots to alleviate issues for others. Creates and distributes weekly and monthly tools and consumables billing and consumables reports to appropriate parties as required. Monitors and processes monthly fuel card and field operations truck billing.
- Manages necessary tool purchases, ensuring completed purchase orders are submitted to accounts payable, per agreed-upon Company procedures. Negotiates yearly pricing with delivery companies and assists in the development of the annual tool budget.
- Ensures deliveries and other functions in the warehouse have the resources and assistance needed to deliver quality products and services. Accurately fills tool orders from the warehouse; inspects quality, organizes, and stages for delivery. Communicates well with project managers and other co-workers to ensure appropriate tools have been purchased, received, ordered, and filled.
- Creates schedules for tool/equipment deliveries and pick-ups from project job sites. Coordinates courier and arrange for over the trucking shipments. Loads and unloads tools on and off delivery trucks, and audits job sites for tool recovery prior to job completions, in order to minimize tool loss.
- Ensure proper tool usage and safety practices by others. Cleans, maintains, repairs, and organizes warehouse tools. Re-stocks inventory items in the warehouse as needed. Maintains company owned equipment and monitors equipment utilization and repairs. Ships and receives packages via UPS daily. Minimize delivery costs whenever possible. Safely operates forklift as needed.
- Provides high quality hiring, mentoring, and training to staff and other co-workers as needed. Coaches’ employees and provide performance feedback regularly.
- Maintains confidentiality of all Company, employee and/or customer data and sensitive information. Actively seeks assistance to resolve or report problems when necessary. Coordinates with the safety department to develop, maintain and practice safety policies and procedures with all equipment and tools, including forklifts, trucks, and trailers.
- Consistently make decisions in an attentive and safe manner to ensure the safety and health of self and others.
- Utilizes LEAN concepts or other continuous improvement methodologies to ensure the most efficient operations, processes, and activities.

Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent work experience in mechanical engineering or a related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 4-6 years of industry experience working with tools or schedules in a construction warehouse environment, including experience using computerized inventory systems. Minimum 2 years of training and experience directly managing people.
- Knowledge of the electrical construction industry and general industry OSHA safety standards and procedures. Knowledge of current regulations through MN DOT and MSHA. OSHA certification preferred.
- Experience safely driving and operating a forklift.
- Experience and skills providing work direction, training, and mentoring to others. Strong leadership, hiring, and coaching skills. High degree of professionalism, initiative, organizational, customer service and prioritization skills.
- Experience with direct customer contact and effective communication with employees and co-workers at all levels. Dedicated team player, with effective collaboration and relationship-building skills. Willingly accepts feedback for continuous improvement.
- Solid training, experience, and skills in project management. Thorough understanding of the project life cycle.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with LEAN concepts and methodologies. Strong process orientation.
- Strong organizational skills, scheduling abilities, initiative, complex problem solving, time management and detail orientation. Demonstrated strong mathematical skills.
- Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Strong telephone communication skills. Demonstrated elevated level of integrity and dependability.
Salary Range
•$ 63,000 -90,400 annually, based on experience and qualifications
