LEMOINE, a Great Place to Work®-Certified company, is looking for a Project Accountant I. We're looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to support our Operations Team with financial and administrative functions on active projects. This role works closely with Project Managers and other project leaders to ensure accurate job cost tracking, subcontractor compliance, billing support, and risk management activities. The ideal candidate is proactive, adaptable, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Start-Up: Participate in project kickoff meetings to gain insight into scope, commitments, tax status, billing schedules, and reporting needs. Support setup of systems and tools to enable efficient cost tracking and compliance monitoring.
Project Administration: Attend and contribute to internal team meetings, project reviews, and project scorecard tracking. Assist with reclassification of miscoded job costs and support documentation in EFMS (electronic file management system). Monitor project deadlines related to billing, cost accruals, and subcontractor payments. Assist with the preparation and submission of monthly billing packages, including notarized pay apps, lien waivers, certified payroll, and owner-required documentation. Track and follow up on accounts receivable collections.
Subcontractor & Vendor Payments: Ensure all subcontractor agreements, purchase orders, and licensing documents are current and fully executed. Maintain up-to-date certificates of insurance and monitor compliance throughout the project lifecycle. Track certified payroll, lien waivers, risk mitigation plans, and payment performance bonds as needed. Coordinate payments to vendors and subcontractors once funding has been received from the owner.
Project Close-Out: Assist with organizing and finalizing close-out documentation including warranties and O&M manuals. Ensure all subcontractor final lien waivers are collected and outstanding payables are resolved. Support the Project Manager in closing out subcontracts in the accounting system and validating final project cost projections.
What We're Looking For:
- 3-5 years of experience in accounts payable, construction project accounting, or a related field.
- Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent experience preferred.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting or project management software.
