The Project Manager will work with client project personnel to ensure safe, cost effective, and quality project execution. The incumbent must have extensive experience in Electrical Transmission and Substation project management and estimating. Core duties are to work with client
project teams on front end constructability analysis, planning, scheduling, estimating, and execution of the projects. Exceptional communication skills are essential as daily interaction with client and Primoris project teams, management, and field personnel is required. The incumbent will report to the Program Manager and lead Project Managers, Superintendents and project support personnel. The Senior Project Manager will ensure that all project scopes, deliverables, permitting requirements, and constructability issues are clearly defined and communicated prior to project commencement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide pre-construction support to the client in the form of constructability reviews, resource planning, risk mitigation, project execution methods, and cost mitigation.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with client representatives
- Seek out and secure future project opportunities with the client
- Complete project site walks and scope/drawing reviews
- Provide constructability analysis and design assistance to project and engineering teams from initial design to the issued for construction phase
- Work in concert with the customer project teams to ensure that all permitting, environmental requirements, and land agreements are in place prior to project mobilization, and handoff
- Assist environmental, health and safety personnel with development of project site specific safety plans and ensure that all environmental and safety deliverables are met
- Complete project estimates/bids/target pricing, construction schedules, and manpower loading
- Obtain and review subcontractor quotes
- Assist Primoris project teams with pre-construction project hand offs, throughout the duration of the project, and into job closeout and final cost validation
EDUCATION & MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or another relevant discipline.
- Ability to maintain professional personal presentation in both written and verbal communication.
- A minimum of 5 years of project management and estimating experience in the pipeline maintenance and integrity construction industry.
- An in-depth knowledge of heavy underground utility construction.
- Extensive experience in construction project scheduling, manpower loading, and estimating.
- Ability to accurately and effectively communicate and document project scopes and clarifications.
- Ability to interpret and understand construction contracts, subcontracts, rental agreements and MSA rates.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, and the ability to learn/utilize construction accounting systems.
- Experience with Hard Dollar and Primavera P6 is a plus.
