Job Title: PPM Block Mason-- Spruce Pine, NC
Job Summary:
MOR PPM Inc. seeks Block Masons for a project in Spruce Pine, NC. Must have proper knowledge and experience in Masonry. Laying blocks to build office structures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Carves out and builds structures and surfaces with bricks or concrete blocks.
- Places concrete blocks on mortar bed.
- Cuts or saws bricks to fit around windows and doors.
- Measures distances to lay out work.
- Mixes mortar and grout to be used to lay brick.
- Spreads mortar onto block surface with a trowel.
- Examines brickwork to ensure structure is built correctly.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Experience:
5 years’ experience with working in a Masonry role.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of bricklaying techniques and procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Thorough understanding of math and geometry.
Physical Requirements/Job Site Requirements:
- Must be able to complete hiring paperwork electronically through DocuSign
- May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Must posses enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above
- Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas
- Must have full range of motion consistent with age
- Must be able to climb and maintain balance ladders
- Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job-related noises
- Visual acuity, depth perception and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfaces
- Safety/Steel toe shoes are required.
