Job Title: Project Estimator - Temporary Part Time
Job Summary: EMCOR Government Services has an immediate need for a Temporary part time Project Estimator working approximately 24 hour per week . This position is located in the DC/MD/VA area. This position involves coordination with site leaders to identify and respond to customer requests for projects. This role will estimate the project cost, partnering with operations to oversee and execute on the project through successful completion. This includes submitting project proposals, pre-work analysis, punch-list/close-out management, and status update reports.
This position reports to the Director of Operations and coordinates with individual site supervisors to provide best in class reimbursable project support. The successful individual must be able to work independently and be self-motivated to respond to requests and successfully track and complete the projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reviews client requests for project work and develops accurate estimate for the scope of work proposed to include a pre-work analysis.
- Provide accounting of project support and forecasting of project workload.
- Provide project oversight to inclusive of cost analysis, time to completion, and present periodic updates to site leaders.
- Integrates with the Operations Teams and SME’s to develop and provide best in class reimbursable project support.
- Conduct frequent site visits to gather data that will be used in the development of price estimates.
- Collaborate with other working groups across the enterprise to test and validate estimates.
- Work with site support staff for purchase order, subcontract agreement support, project progress, project close-out documents / release of claims, and invoice requests.
- During project planning ensure material, subcontractor, and internal labor resources are tracked and accounted-for and coded properly.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 5 or more years of project management or project estimating
- At least 3 years of estimating experience in facilities
- Experience with government facilities and Davis Bacon requirements
- Experience with estimating software to include Critical Path and/or RS Means is preferred.
- Must be able and willing to dive into the detail, create relationships with site leaders and the client and utilize financial acumen and creativity to find solutions.
- Requires Microsoft Office experience and specifically Microsoft Excel capability.
- Ability to plan, organize and implement work assignments and work independently on multiple projects.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Valid Drivers License
