The Opportunity
The Project Manager for nuclear engineering services and EPC projects will function in a entry/mid-level project manager capacity. You will own multiple small to medium services and/or larger EPC projects encompassing existing plant modifications, Extended Power Uprate (EPU) projects, small modular reactor (SMR) deployment, and the restart and life extension of nuclear plants. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Provide technical support for client projects with design review services, design engineering services, and development engineering support
- Support client projects with feasibility studies, and cost estimates
- Provide proposal support for client projects with technical specification preparation, RFP support, and bid evaluation support
- Oversee EPC contractors for client projects
The Team
Our Nuclear solution serves our clients to provide services from study level to full-scale EPC execution for nuclear power generation solutions. As a Project Manager you are the execution hub for our clients and project teams, providing leadership and alignment for successful nuclear generation projects. Our Power Providers business is driven to meet clients’ rapidly changing sustainability needs in generation of safe, reliable, carbon-free electric power. Key Responsibilities
Actively promotes nuclear and industrial safety culture.
- Oversees planning, developing, and tracking of Services and/or EPC projects including areas of execution performance, financial metrics, schedule adherence, quality outcomes, contractual compliance, safety performance, and client satisfaction.
- Manages all aspects of proposals and opportunity pursuits for small to medium Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC)/Service projects.
- Works with Discipline Engineers, Subject Matter Experts, and Construction Managers to execute projects to a high standard commensurate with the nuclear industry.
- Manages escalated problems or issues.
Management Responsibilities
Acts as a project manager. Among responsibilities is management of a project team. The individual comprising this team may vary by project.
Preferred Qualifications
- 8-10 years of relevant experience with increasing responsibility.
- Experience with Nuclear power projects.
- Engineering Services or EPC Project Management experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Work Environment/Physical Demands
This role has 10% to 25% travel to project and client sites. When not travelling, this role will be hybrid: 2 days per week remote, 3 days per week in-office out of the preferred Black and Veatch offices in Overland Park, KS, Cary, NC, or Ann Arbor, MI. Working out of
other Black & Veatch offices would be acceptable, but would have less interface to our nuclear team members. We are open to assisting with relocation if needed! This is why we offer our professionals, located near an office, the option of a Hybrid work environment. Our hybrid work approach allows our employees to work two days a week from other locations outside of the office. Some positions may be relocation eligible.
