Job Purpose
A Norwalt Lead Electrician/Panel Builder will be responsible for the wiring, troubleshooting, and electrical component assembly of automated machinery. Norwalt is an Engineer to Order (ETO) company and therefore provides unique and custom machinery to meet the needs of its customers. Therefore, the machines that employees are exposed to are always unique and evolve with technological advancements. Machines are assembled and wired at Norwalt starting with a bare frame then mechanically built, wired, and tested prior to shipping to Norwalt customer facilities. Custom sized panels are build from a bare subplate for each machine; making the role more enjoyable since all panels build are 1-off and custom.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Work with engineering and mechanical assemblers to plan out junction box placement and cable routing
· Wire industrial control panels to UL specifications, follow Norwalt wire schematics
· Machine frame wiring, including.
- Running motor/sensor and network cables
- Mounting cable management components
- Machine to control panel interconnection wiring
- Troubleshoot wiring errors
- Assist engineering with sensor setup and troubleshooting
Qualification Requirements
· Ability to read electrical schematics
· 4 years of electrical panel building experience
· Experience in using basic hand and power tools recommended but not required
· Ability to use a multi meter for troubleshooting
· Ability to navigate a computer (CAD experience helpful but not required)
- Norwalt offers training to specific Norwalt applications to be used on the computers
· Verbal and written communication skills helpful
· Ability to follow directions
· Ability to organize safety audits and recognize unsafe situations
Physical Demands and Abilities
· Ability to carry up to 45lbs and lift from below the waist to above the head
· Daily duties and responsibilities may include, bending, reaching, lifting objects (below the waist and above the head), walking and/or standing for extended periods of time (and possibly for extended distances), climbing stairs, stooping, and kneeling
· Ability to work over and under machines for running cables

Pay: $22.00 - $29.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
