We are seeking a Hydrovac Truck Operator to join our team in the Abilene, TX area. This is a very physical job that requires operating a hydrovac truck (vacuum excavator) to safely expose underground utilities using high-pressure water and a powerful vacuum system. The ideal candidate should have experience in excavation, hydro excavation, or vacuum truck operations and be comfortable working in a physically demanding environment.

CDL REQUIRED

What You'll Do

Operate a hydrovac truck to excavate around underground utilities safely
Use high-pressure water to break up soil and vacuum debris into the truck
Transport and dispose of excavated material appropriately
Follow safety protocols and regulations to prevent damage to underground lines
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on the truck and equipment
Work in various weather conditions and job site environments
Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks daily

What You'll Have

Must have a Class A CDL (Commercial Driver’s License)
Must be local to the Abilene, TX area
Ability to perform heavy physical labor in outdoor environments
Experience with vacuum trucks, hydro excavation, or construction-related work preferred
Knowledge of safety procedures for underground utility work is a plus
Strong teamwork and communication skills

Work Environment

Work sites are outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions
All worksite safety instructions are written and spoken in English; must be fluent in English
Work includes prolonged and repeated: lifting (including overhead, up to 50lbs); standing; climbing; kneeling; reaching and feeling; crouching and crawling
Work is performed within the “red zone” of heavy equipment
Working safely requires quick/accurate hand-eye coordination and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner

Legal Stuff

Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens
Provide valid US work authorization documents for E-Verify
Satisfactory results of pre-employment background check results
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record is required
Pre-employment medical fit-for-duty test; hold/obtain DOT medical card
