Position title: Electrical Engineer
Reports to: Engineering Manager
Summary:
An Electrical Engineer, or Electronics Engineer, is responsible for developing electrical devices and testing them for safety and efficiency. Their duties include managing the manufacturing process for new electrical equipment, using design software to produce schematics and overseeing the installation process of their designs. The Electrical Engineer IV will have the ability work independently in a team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Write reports, design, lay out, develop, and tests electronic systems, components, or printed circuit boards (Class III) for use within aerospace products, electrical equipment, components, and systems
- Develop functional specifications, architecture, detailed designs, schematics, and PCBs (class III)
- Study new technologies and research innovative solutions and product designs
- Coordinate all phases of assigned area electrical engineering projects from concept, scope development, written specifications, proposals, design, manufacturing, equipment commissioning, and project closure.
- Estimate material, labor, or manufacturing costs for budget preparation
- Ensure compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements by directing or coordinating installation, production, maintenance, documentation, support, or testing activities
- Compile data regarding existing and potential electrical engineering projects and studies
- Prepare specifications for purchases of electrical equipment and materials
- Write engineering documentation to meet customer design requirements, including contract data requirements list (CDRL)
- Confers with customers, engineers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering products or projects.
- Ensures that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements by preparing electrical systems specifications and technical drawings using computer-assisted design or engineering software and equipment
- Establishes manufacturing, or installation standards or specifications by performing a wide range of detailed calculations.
- Ensures compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements by directing or coordinating installation, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, documentation, support, or testing activities.
- Work with other members of the team in a proactive fashion, especially any junior members, mentoring as necessary.
- Prepare reports on performance and progress and present them to manager
- Oversight of junior team members
- Other duties as assigned
Experience
Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in the following areas: electrical design, printed circuit board layout and testing, and analysis and interpretation of physical phenomena or engineering data.
Required Skills:
- Proficient in all phases of engineering development (requirements, design, test and production)
- Advanced mathematical skills for calculation of design equations
- Excellent communication skills to explain technical specifics to peers and customers
- Writing skills for preparing manuals, parts lists, proposals, and design documentation
- Using industry-specific tolls to analyze and test electronics
- Ability to write technical documents and procedures
- Strong organizational, communications, leadership, and interpersonal skills٫ together with a results-driven approach
- Must be a motivated self-starter who maintains a friendly, courteous, and compassionate demeaner
Preferred Skills
- Experience with real-time embedded operating system and communication ports (RS-232/422/485, USB, CAN, Ethernet, etc.) connected to navigation (GPS Rx, INS, IMU, etc.) and environmental sensors
- FPGA and Microcontroller (Atom, PIC, Atmel, etc.) and embedded software
- Ability to estimate material and labor costs for budget and proposal preparation
- Experience with AS9100D Quality Management System policies and procedures
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, SharePoint, etc.).
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (M.S. preferred) from an accredited school
ITAR Requirements
- To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15) or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S.Department of State.

Compensation:
Salary Range: $85,000.00 to $155,000.00
Medical Benefits: Company-paid health, dental, and vision insurance, which includes one hundred percent (100%) coverage for the employee and fifty percent
(50%) coverage for dependents.
Retirement Benefits: Company 401k retirement plan, where the company will match up to four percent (4%) of employee contributions, subject to plan terms and conditions.
