Thermaflex, a subsidiary of Smiths Group, and a leading manufacturer of products for the HVAC market is recruiting for a 2nd shift Maintenance Mechanic for our Phoenix, AZ location. The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing general and preventative maintenance for all manufacturing processes and machinery. Must be proficient in Electrical troubleshooting, mechanical machine operation and repair as well as familiar with hydraulic and machining disciplines
Essential Functions:
- Performs a wide variety of duties to repair, troubleshoot and maintain complex mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Works from prints, schematics, diagrams, or general instructions.
- Accountable for meeting very tight tolerance specifications and making decisions on the reliability and safety of operating equipment. The safety of other employees is dependent on the judgment and skills of the mechanic.
- Installs and repairs electrical circuits, conduits, transformers, motors and automatic controls.
- Repairs and troubleshoots various types of electrical controls. An understanding of electrical circuits, relays, motors and contactors is required. Single and 3 phase electrical experience is preferred.
- Maintains utility systems, air conditioning, air compressors, gas systems and water treating systems. Makes routine carpentry or plumbing repairs.
- Performs machining operations using lathes, milling machines, boring mill, drill presses, shapers, profile saw or other equipment to product tooling or machine parts to very close tolerances.
- Welds various metals using acetylene or electric welders to repair machine frames or parts. Constructs special designs for plant or machine use.

Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma required
Technical degree in related discipline preferred
Maintenance proficiency in Mechanical, Electrical, Pneumatic, Machining disciplines preferred
