Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cable Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in telecommunications and be proficient in the installation, maintenance, and repair of cable systems. This role requires hands-on experience with various tools and equipment, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
This opening is working nights, Monday - Thursday 10 hour shifts. Will be at various locations each week.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair cable systems for commercial customers.
- Basic understanding of network systems.
- Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment such as punch-down kits and fluke testers for testing and troubleshooting.
- Installation and terminations of cable pathways and Cat6 jacks
- Knowledge of punch panels and how to terminate and troubleshooting
- Configure and install network devices
- Adhere to safety protocols while working on electrical systems and telecommunications equipment.
- Document work performed, including any changes made to existing systems or installations.
Skills
- 2-4 years of experience
- Proficient in the use of hand tools and mechanical knowledge related to cable installation.
- Experience with terminating, testing and troubleshooting.
- Network installation processes.
- Familiarity with telecommunication standards and practices.
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary, Temp-to-hire
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
