What You Will Do
As a Warehouse Associate & Material Handler/Runner, you will play a vital role in supporting job site operations by ensuring that materials, tools, and equipment are delivered and organized efficiently. This position involves coordinating the movement of supplies between storage areas and job sites, maintaining inventory, and providing general support to the on-site team. The successful candidate will be highly dependable, organized, and able to adapt quickly to the dynamic needs of a construction environment.
A Typical Day at Prime Controls
- Material Handling: Receive, inspect, and organize materials, tools, and equipment delivered to the job site.
- Running Errands: Transport materials, tools, and equipment between storage locations and job sites as needed using company vehicles.
- Inventory Management: Track and maintain inventory of job site supplies to ensure materials are available when needed.
- Site Organization: Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards by regularly clearing debris and unused materials.
- Assist Site Teams: Provide general support to site teams, including setting up workstations, moving equipment, and assisting with job site preparations.
- Delivery Coordination: Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials to the job site.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of material deliveries, usage, and returns to ensure proper inventory control.
What You Will Bring
The Basic
- Proven experience in material handling, logistics, or a similar role in a construction or industrial environment.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to operate company vehicles, including pick-up trucks and small utility trailers.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, stand for long periods, and work in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends and overtime as needed.
The Preferred
- Experience in a job site environment with familiarity in handling construction materials.
- Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or software.
- Dependable, punctual, and proactive in identifying and addressing material needs on site.
